MSK Ultrasound Imaging Fundamentals Training Video is designed to provide an overview of basic ultrasound imaging principles, transducer selection, system optimization, factors contributing to image quality, normal Musculoskeletal anatomy characteristics, and commonly seen imaging artifacts in MSK ultrasound.

OBJECTIVES
- State the principles of sound generation and image processing.
- Select the appropriate transducer for the various musculoskeletal ultrasound applications.
- Optimize system controls for accurate display of the target anatomy.
- Recognize normal ultrasound characteristics of bone, muscle, cartilage, tendons, nerves, and ligaments.
- Identify commonly seen image artifacts and apply techniques to resolve.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians, PA’s, sonographers and other medical professionals who will be involved with performing and/or interpreting MSK ultrasound. Physicians may include (but is not limited to) radiology, sports medicine, orthopedic, rheumatology, PM & R, internal medicine, primary care, chiropractic, and physical therapy.
