It was an amazing 30th Birthday for the Society’s Scientific Sessions in Portland, June 21-25, 2019!
In 1989, color Doppler had just appeared and the first TEEs were done…after 30 years of innovation, echo has undoubtedly become the most indispensable technique in the cardiologist’s toolbox and a must-have in many other medical and surgical specialties.
The overarching theme of the 30th Annual Scientific Sessions was echo’s role as a bridge builder. Echo is uniquely positioned at the center of many worlds, able to combine amazing complementary strengths: at the intersection of imaging, physiology and physiopathology, guiding interventional medicine and surgery, bringing together health providers of many specialties, sonographers, engineers, basic scientists, physiologists, and epidemiologists. Echo holds a primary position in patient care being simultaneously affordable, scalable, and internationally accessible.
Review these sessions to not only consolidate your existing knowledge, but also help you discover aspects of echo that you may not have thought about and that will broaden and extend your practice.
Listen to faculty from all the specialties, and around the world, present you with the most up-to-date and relevant science, not just on echo but on all aspects of cardiovascular ultrasound care.
