This tutorial demonstrates the techniques for performing head and neck examinations as recommended by the AIUM Practice Parameter for the Performance of Ultrasound Examinations of the Head and Neck. After completing this video, viewers should be able to describe the normal and abnormal thyroid gland, and be able to describe the sonographic appearance of salivary glands and lymph nodes, as well as be familiar with examples of benign congenital and non-malignant lesions (thymus, branchial cleft cyst, TGDC), neurovascular and miscellaneous mass lesions (lymphatic vascular malformations, hemangioma), and infection and trauma (abscessed lymphadenitis, nasal fracture).
