Congress overview

Over 100 PoCUS experts from over 40 countries and representing almost every discipline will gather to present the latest concepts in ultrasonography in two broad tracks.

In Track 1 presentations will focus on cutting edge scientific information.

In Track 2 the emphasis will be mostly on educational material for those seeking to refine and advance their established sonology practice.

Each session will conclude with a live panel in which the presenters will field questions in real time. To further broaden access, dedicated sessions will be held in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

Please join us on June 12th and 13th as we take stock of our achievements over the past year and look to the future for ways that ultrasound can further enhance our patient care!

Track two

Refinements of Practice for the New Standard of Care

For most sonologists, underlying the glitter of the latest science there is a mountain of experience, knowledge, and scientific data.
This track will seek to enhance the power of ultrasound in the hands of practitioners who have scanned long enough to know that there are always ways to improve.
Talks from worldwide authorities will include the latest evidence reviews on test characteristics, novel indications for common ultrasound applications, best practice guidelines, pearls and pitfalls of scanning technique, knobology, and image optimization.
There will be presentations from leaders in the field on topics ranging from critical care to resource limited settings.

WINFOCUS: how to become a member

Davide Neri

*The World Interactive Network Focused On Critical UltraSound (WINFOCUS) is the world leader scientific network committed to develop Point-of-Care Ultrasound practice, research, education, technology, and networking, addressing the needs of patients, institutions, services, and communities living in out-of-hospital and in-hospital critical scenarios.

It has been a time of adversity and sacrifice. Healthcare workers in all parts of the world have responded with extraordinary effort. Those whose skills include ultrasonography have experienced additional burdens as Point-of-Care Ultrasound has found new applications in the care and management of patients in a setting where there is a risk of deadly contagion.

WINFOCUS is proud and pleased to offer an unprecedented scientific and instructional event for practitioners, learners, and educators in PoCUS. One unique aspect of this congress is that it is being offered for free to large part of the medical community.

For 20 years, WINFOCUS has been the world-wide standard bearer for clinician sonologists of every background. Previous World Congresses have been held in six continents. This year, we are excited to extend our reach through the newly realized potential of global internet connectivity.

In the WINFOCUS World e-Congress 2021, an interdisciplinary panel of international experts has been gathered to deliver a unique range of scientific and educational content.
We are confident that this conference will have much to offer to every member of the medical community who uses or teaches ultrasound.

About the Congress

Lockdowns, PPE shortages, personal risk, familial dislocation: through all this we have found unexpected ways for ultrasound to help us provide better, more expedited, more informed care.

As we emerge from this stressful period, WINFOCUS is proud to present a Virtual Congress in which sonologists will be connected across the globe to celebrate their efforts and achievement.

In the spirit of our vision and mission, the Virtual Congress is offered for free to all members of supporting institutions or medical societies (see list below).
In order to extend participation to the greatest possible number of healthcare workers, the first 2,000 registrants will also benefit free attendance.

Although the decision to hold our annual World Congress in virtual format is prompted by current travel restrictions, we believe there are many ways that the e-format will have unintended benefits:

  • It will spare participants the cost of airfares and lodging making it equally accessible to all regardless of their resources.
  • It will reduce environmental impact from travel
  • It will create time savings that might otherwise have prevented many from attending.
  • It will allow a larger community of sonologists than ever before to share in their experience of the professional and psychological privations of the past year.
  • With the Congress free for many, busy clinicians can selectively attend only those sessions that are of direct relevance to their clinical practice.

Please join us on June 12th and 13th as we take stock of our achievements over the past year and look to the future for ways that ultrasound can further enhance our patient care!
